Three reasons why the location of your house is important.

Published on Friday, January 20, 2017

In a city like Bangalore, the location will not only determine the real estate value of your house but also how many hours you spend navigating road blocks and traffic jams!
So, whether you are planning to buy a house for investment purposes or to move into, the location of your new home is very important.
Here are three reasons why the location of your house should be your top priority:

1) Value of the House
A smaller house in a prime location will always be a better investment than a large house in a remote corner of the city, with hardly any facilities. The better the location of the house, higher the value of your investment.
If you are thinking about buying a house in the suburbs of the city, choose a suburb that has seen steady development. For example, you can never go wrong by investing in villas in Koramangala or Indiranagar, two of the most popular commercial hubs in the city.

2) Safety and Facilities
Living in a safe neighbourhood is of prime importance especially if you plan to live with your family and kids. Many outlying areas are considered unsafe with higher crime rates than areas like Koramangala or Kanakapura that have CCTV surveillance cameras installed in almost every street.
The other important factor to consider is the location’s nearness to good schools, stores and restaurants. The closer the location to the hub of the city, the better. So choose the location of your house after careful consideration.

3) Proximity to Work
Probably the most important reason why you should give importance to the location of your house is proximity to your workplace. Imagine the convenience that comes with this benefit! More family time and less time spent inhaling the polluted air during peak hours in Bangalore traffic. Studies have also shown that cutting down on how much time you spend in travel significantly reduces stress levels. Sitting cramped in a car or braving the cold winds on your two wheeler can lead to knee pain and other kinds of joint aches. For example, if you are working at Electronic City, villas in south Bangalore might be your best option. On the other hand, if your office is located on the other end of the city, near Manyata Tech Park for instance, Hebbal or areas close by will be the best choice.
These are just a few reasons. You might also want to check out who the neighbours are and if there are any associations for the residents of that particular area.
Before buying a house, be sure to keep the above factors in mind. Your dream house also needs a perfect location.
